Hair transplant is a surgical procedure wherein hair is extracted from a donor area & implanted in the area where hair is required. Two methods that are used are Follicular Unit Strip (FUS) & Follicular Unit Extraction (FUE). The FUS technique involves a 6 to 10 inch strip of skin from the donor area which is divided into smaller hair grafts. The FUE technique involves the extraction of hair follicles from the donor area which are implanted one by one. Only healthy hair follicles are selected & implanted precisely & skilfully in the direction of your hear growth in order to give it a more dense appearance.
How long will the procedure take?
4 to 6 hours depending on the area to be covered. In case if a large number of hair is to be transplanted the surgery is split into to sessions.
What is the recovery time for hair transplant?
You will be comfortable returning home the same day however it will take 5 to 7 days to heal.
From when will I start seeing results?
After the transplant you will be able to see the hairline however your hair will go into a resting phase for about 3 months during which you may experience some shedding of hair. Final results will be seen in about 6 months.
How long will the results last ?
The results are permanent though you are advised to continue with PRP's for strengthening surrounding areas.
